RIBridges cybersecurity incident

On December 13, 2024, the state of Rhode Island was informed by its vendor that there was a major security threat to the RIBridges system, the system that manages eligibility data for Medicaid and many of the State’s social services programs.

This incident involves the RIBridges system, and there is no active threat to Point32Health systems. We continue to conduct all business operations, including processing claims, referrals, notifications, and authorization requests.

The State proactively took the RIBridges system offline as of December 13, 2024, and Medicaid renewals will not be processed at this time. Members with a renewal deadline between Dec. 31, 2024 and Jan. 31, 2025 were instructed to disregard their renewal (yellow) notice and notified they will still have Medicaid coverage while the State investigates the security threat. The State will communicate further instruction to impacted members when more information is available.

In addition, the State is working with its vendor to generate the list of impacted individuals and will send letters to those individuals with instructions on how to access free credit monitoring.
