Keynote Speaker: Joseph Perekupka, Chief Executive Officer, Freespira 

Joe Perekupka is a proven healthcare leader with over 25 years of commercial experience in various leadership and functional roles. He spent the last ten years commercializing novel technologies with startup and small growth companies focused on the neuroscience market. Prior to Freespira, Joe led commercial and operations for a non-invasive neuromodulation startup where he played critical roles in commercial strategy, product development, global partnerships, BD activities and a successful U.S. IPO.  He has extensive experience in the medical device sector that he acquired while working for St. Jude Medical (now Abbott).  Joe spent ten years working at St. Jude Medical across many commercial and management positions. He played a key role within the organization’s growth phase when he was in corporate accounts driving the integration of the complete cardiovascular portfolio by contracting with large health systems, IDNs and GPOs. His efforts led to a significant increase in market share for the company with committed contracts worth over $100MM revenue growth.   

Joe is currently a co-chair for the Commercialization and Reimbursement Task Force for DTA. In previous years he has also served in contributing roles for the Digital Therapeutics Alliance and DTx societies.  

He also volunteers as part of the Fordham and Penn State Universities Mentor Program. He works directly with graduating college students and provides them advice on their career, interviewing and guidance for the best opportunity as they enter the work force.  

He earned his BS from the Penn State University in 1994 and an MBA from Fordham University Gabelli School of Business in 2001.
