Fostering a culture of connection & contribution with CRGs

At Point32Health, two of our shared values are grow together and build community. We believe that when our people thrive, our organization thrives, and that serving each other helps us better serve our communities. With those principles as our guide, we have established and continued to grow a diverse Colleague Resource Group (CRG) culture, where people of any background or special interest can find a home and make a difference.

To date, we have eight unique CRGs at Point32Health, with a ninth to be added by the end of 2024. With a combined membership of over 3,000 across these groups, it’s evident that our colleagues are passionate about fostering company-wide allyship while living our community of care values.

CRGs & June social initiatives

Throughout the year, our Colleague Resource Groups host a number of events and programming that raise awareness about various social justice and/or health equity issues. Whether it be a celebration for World Day for Cultural Diversity (held annually in May), or a Day of Thanks and Service in honor of Veterans Day, our CRGs are always shining a light on real-world topics.

Just this past June, our CRGs celebrated a number of events both virtually, and in-person at our Canton headquarters. Urcel Fields, president, Government Markets, and members of the Black Professionals and Multicultural Connection CRG hosted a Cultural Social Hour: Juneteenth Celebration. Using the theme, “Senses of Freedom: Exploring the Tastes, Sounds and Experiences of an African American Celebration,” these CRGs hosted guest speaker JAKE Small, workplace equity consultant, DEI educator and author, for a conversation around the meaning and importance of Juneteenth in our collective culture.

That same month, our CRGs also honored PRIDE month with multiple events for colleagues. Hosted by Stephen Cassell, chief marketing and brand officer, the Pride Point CRG organized a cultural social hour titled “Reflect, Empower, Unite,” that featured guest speaker Polly Crozier, director of family advocacy at GLAD, a discussion of our new LGBTQ Health Center of Excellence. And, for the first time in our company and CRG history, our Pride Point CRG marched in this year’s Boston Pride for the People Parade.
